Child Care and Pre-K

Seventy-five percent of brain growth and 85% of intellect, personality and social skills develop before age 5—in the first 2,000 days of life—so it is imperative that we invest in our youngest children long before they enter school.

Policy Focus

Through our advocacy and analysis, Schuyler Center develops and promotes budget and public policy initiatives that:

  • Expand access to high quality, subsidized child care and universal pre-K for all New York families
  • Support the child care workforce through fair compensation and professional development
