New York’s child care industry is facing unique challenges coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, with providers closing, and parents struggling to afford the service. Schuyler Center CEO Kate Breslin was interviewed for the New York Now segment examining the new and ongoing hurdles facing child care providers and parents.
Breslin discussed challenges for child care centers trying to make ends meet after an uncertain year, struggles for parents balancing the cost of child care against their income, and the desire for many child care providers to have more of a career pathway because they can’t make a living being a child care provider.
