On November 7, 2022, Schuyler Center and Medicaid Matters New York co-hosted a conversation on the role of Medicaid in the well-being of New York’s children.

Health coverage and access to care are critical to robust child health and development. Medicaid provides comprehensive health insurance coverage to over one third of all New Yorkers. Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program – known in New York as Child Health Plus (CHP) – provide comprehensive coverage for 2.5 million New York children, including the majority of low-income children.

The discussion highlighted continuous coverage for the youngest New Yorkers, keeping kids covered when the federal public health emergency ends, and ensuring access to services – including preventive care and mental health care for children and adolescents. View the recording.
