On July 14 Schuyler Center hosted a Schuyler Conversation on the Path to Universal Child Care. The discussion covered the impact of recent child care legislation in New York State, implementation, real world impact, challenges, and what’s next.

Schuyler’s Director of Policy Dede Hill was joined by Shanita Bowen, child care provider and Leader of ECE on the Move (a network of child care providers in the Bronx) and Maria Whyte, Deputy County Executive, Erie County.

The Schuyler Conversations series is dedicated to thoughtful conversation about poverty-fighting public policy that strengthens New York’s children and families. These conversations look at the potential of evidence-based policies to reduce child poverty, improve well-being, and to do so while centering equity and justice.
