We are delighted to share with you our new website!

We’ve got a refreshed look that will continue to provide our friends and partners with resources related to pressing New York State policy issues including health and Medicaid, early childhood development and child welfare, and family economic security.  We’ll pay special attention in the coming months to the New York State budget and legislation, as the 2014 Session gets underway.

The Schuyler Center tackles policy problems associated with poverty and inequality.  While the state and national economies are rebounding and some sectors are prospering, poverty remains entrenched and income inequality grows.  These problems manifest themselves in critical ways, including dramatic inequities in children’s health and education.  Poverty remains a significant driver of poor health, ‘failing’ schools, and limited opportunity.

Today – January 8, 2014 – marks the 50th anniversary of President Johnson’s declaration of our nation’s War on Poverty.  Addressing the challenges associated with poverty, inequality, and opportunity for all isn’t, and shouldn’t be, a partisan issue.  Join us today and renew your commitment to fighting poverty and inequality.  Please also consider a donation to support our work.  The Schuyler Center has a lot more work to do and we are here to fight these battles for many years to come!
