Schuyler Center plays a leadership role in several statewide campaigns. We believe in the power of partnership and collaboration – with other advocates and organizations, with community members, and with government leaders.
New York Can End Child Poverty
The New York Can End Child Poverty coalition is convened by Schuyler Center, and is composed of a diverse group of organizations. Together, the group is working to improve long-term outcomes for children and families from households experiencing economic hardship.
New York Can End Child Poverty partners are dedicated to advancing and strengthening public policies that support children and families and reduce child poverty and inequity across New York State.
The Statewide Campaign for Universal Child Care
Schuyler Center is a founder and leader of the Empire State Campaign for Child Care (ESCCC).
The Empire State Campaign for Child Care is a statewide coalition of parents, child care educators, and advocates who believe that every family in New York State deserves high quality, universal child care and that every child care educator deserves to earn a thriving wage.
The campaign was founded in 2017, and advocates at the state and federal levels for investment in child care that best serves the needs of all of New York’s families and child care educators.
Advocating for Medicaid Consumers
Medicaid Matters New York, housed at Schuyler Center, is the only statewide coalition dedicated to advancing the interests of Medicaid beneficiaries.
Over 100 coalition partners work hard to ensure policymakers understand the importance of Medicaid to low-income and vulnerable New Yorkers. Medicaid Matters is the voice in Albany representing the interests of Medicaid consumers during discussions of the State’s public health insurance programs. Medicaid Matters has and continues to play a critical role in influencing reform of the Medicaid system in New York State.
Child and Family Wellbeing Action Network
Schuyler Center co-leads the Child and Family Wellbeing Action Network (CFWAN), an expanding statewide group of advocates, providers, and people impacted by New York’s child welfare system. Together, we seek to transform New York’s child welfare system by ensuring New York invests in and implements policies that strengthen and support children, youth and families.
New York Partnership for Dental Therapy
The New York Partnership for Dental Therapy is a statewide coalition committed to expanding access to oral health care by authorizing dental therapists to practice in New York.
