& Legislation
Program reforms and service improvements for
New York's low and moderate-income populations involve legislative
efforts.
Since 1872, SCAA has advised public officials on health and
human service improvements and encourages public involvement
in the legislative process.
On these pages you will find:
Our Agenda, SCAA's 2007-08 Legislative
Agenda, which outlines the primary legislative
priorities shaping our efforts.
Working to Learn Initiative, aims to help New York build a supply of skilled workers and close the gap – by improving access to higher education, literacy, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and vocational training for the state’s 2.1 million high-school educated adults and out-of-school youth.
Adult Home Reform, a resource
page documenting SCAA's adult home reform efforts,
including assisted living statements.
Home Visiting, a resource page for home visiting press, reports, and initiatives in New York State.
Memos in Support or Opposition to
proposed legislation.
